This initiative, led by the Veterinary Services Directorate in collaboration with EpiC Ghana, aims to establish a comprehensive surveillance system for six prioritized zoonotic diseases in Ghana which include Rabies, Tuberculosis, Viral Haemorrhagic Fevers, Anthrax, Avian Influenza, and Trypanosomiasis. Field officers, Veterinary officers, and Laboratory personnels across all regions will capture timely and accurate case information, supported by dropdown options to minimise data entry errors. Each reported case will be geo-referenced and linked to photographic evidence where applicable, enabling practical mapping, analysis, and rapid response. The system seeks to strengthen data-driven decision-making, enhance early detection, and improve coordinated interventions for the prevention and control of zoonotic diseases nationwide.
